LAN Systems Hosts Annual Green IT Earth Day Event

April 22, 2016 – LAN Systems hosted its annual Green IT Earth Day event at its offices today. The event was in celebration of Earth Day and collected e-waste for recycling.

“This year, we collected over a ton of e-waste,” said CEO Mary Hester. “We will continue our collection of eWaste over the year and will keep tons out of the landfill. This year all proceeds will go to Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia to support their very important mission.”

Each year, LAN Systems donates all eRecycling proceeds to a local non-profit organization and this year Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia was selected. HMHB is one of the highest rated charities in Georgia, the GFBF was founded in 1982 to help burn survivors in their journey of recovery and to provide fire safety and prevention.

In addition to eRecycling, the celebration included food from the grill, technology fortunes by Naja Elieva of A Handy Little Company and desserts served by HMHB. The eRecycling includes no-charge hard drive shredding to keep electronic data safe.

Earth Day is an annual day on which events are held worldwide to increase awareness and appreciation of the Earth’s natural environment. Earth Day is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network and is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year.
