LAN Systems Hosts Annual Green IT Earth Day Event

April 20, 2017 – LAN Systems hosted its annual Green IT Earth Day event at its offices last week. The event was in celebration of Earth Day and collected eWaste for recycling.

“This year, we collected the most eWaste on a single day,” said CEO Mary Hester. “We continue our collection of eWaste over the year and will keep tons out of the landfill. This year all proceeds will go to Kate’s Club to support their very important mission.”

Each year, LAN Systems donates all eRecycling proceeds to a local non-profit organization and this year Kate’s Club was selected. Kate’s Club is a special organization that serves children and teens facing life after the death of a parent or sibling.

In addition to eRecycling, the celebration included food from the grill, games and no-charge hard drive shredding to keep electronic data safe.

Earth Day is an annual day on which events are held worldwide to increase awareness and appreciation of the Earth’s natural environment. Earth Day is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network and is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year.
