October 8 – Women in Technology (WIT) yesterday announced the nine finalists for its 2014 Women of the Year in Technology Awards. Mary Hester, CEO, was selected as one of the top three nominees in the Small/Emerging Organization category.
Ms. Hester is the CEO of LAN Systems which provides IT solutions in the Greater Metro Atlanta Area. LAN Systems provides technology solutions that work for people. LAN Systems is a wholly owned subsidiary of Intelligent System Solutions, Inc. (ISS) which has provided high-tech consulting, sales and service to utility customers since 2004. Ms. Hester brings extensive experience managing a support and service group renowned for its “Best in the Industry” rating and standards. She is an expert in customer loyalty and retention. She has designed and delivered numerous training courses and workshops on a variety of topics.
Each year, WIT recognizes the accomplishments of Georgia’s top women leaders in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and the impact they’ve made in their communities. Only three finalists from each category, representing Small/Emerging, Medium/Mid-Size and Large/Enterprise businesses, are selected.

The winners of each category will be announced at the Women of the Year in Technology Awards gala and dinner on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at the Georgia Aquarium.

Since 2000, Women in Technology has celebrated female technology executives for their accomplishments as leaders in business, visionaries of technology and women who make a difference in their communities. Qualifying nominees hold business or STEM leadership roles within a technology organization in Georgia or they maintain STEM leadership positions within a non-technology organization.
